The newly refurbished Portarlington Grand Hotel on the Bellarine Peninsula was envisaged as the perfect seaside retreat.
“The vision is to bring the grand lady back to life as a destination venue as it was intended some 133 years ago,” the hotel operators said, via the venue’s Facebook page.
“The designs have been carefully considered to ensure they strengthen the heritage character of the hotel whilst providing a venue that will cater for the strong growth of residents and visitors to the Bellarine Peninsula.”
Part of the $8.5 million refurbishment project is the atrium, a three-tiered space with sea views and contemporary nautical vibes, which contrasts with the 19th-century facade of the hotel next door.
The atrium is also where you can find several over-sized Smartech Single Pane Tilt Windows. This product was chosen to allow uninterrupted views of the seaside even when the windows are closed.
