Richmond High School

Smartech Richmond High School Folding Door 05b

Richmond High School is a comprehensive community high school committed to delivering innovative curricular and extra-curricular programs. PTW architects were selected with the planning and design of a new multipurpose hall and associated facilities for the school.

Smartech were requested to install and supply an oversized Folding Door, which opens up a large portion of the indoor sporting court to the outside oval. It therefore creates a sense of flow between indoor and outdoor spaces of the property. The 2 doors that were installed are both 3.200 mm high x 13.300 mm wide. They weigh 1.9 tonnes each and have external cement sheet cladding and internal timber lining. This type of oversized door once folded really allows maximum use of space in any room.

This new layout increases both natural light and ventilation in the sporting court area.

Smartech products, including Folding Doors, are available in a large variety of sizes and can be customised based on the client’s specific project requirements. The inclusion of a counterweight lifting mechanism also allows for effortless operation and product longevity.

The successful creation of the new multipurpose hall and associated facilities has allowed the school to better host its school sporting activities.

We are thrilled to have supported both the architect and the school by finding a perfect solution for them.
