Smartech lets you move your way. The Glide-Away Tilt Door creates a grand entrance feel when the door moves into the open position. With a standard range of sizes and glass designs, we are able to provide a timely service and eliminate delay. Should your requirements sit outside our standard range however, our ability to custom design will allow us to find the solution to suit your needs.

Note: These sizes apply to the standard range. All widths are subject to variation depending on the choice of glass design and height required. Please consult manufacture for a Door Specifications sheet along with the code number for ordering details.

Openings

Glide-Away Tilt Doors fit within the opening. Openings are to be made to the exact finished opening sizes listed in Door Specifications Sheet to provide a snug fit at seals, smooth operation and correct tolerances. Openings are to finish square, level and true.

When designing for the Glide-Away Tilt Door, check to ensure you have the required walk through height once the door is in the open position. Check data sheet for detailed information.

Door Construction

The door is manufactured as a single item with two axles attached that are connected to running bearings that are guided within a specially extruded aluminium running guide.

Note: It is the responsibility of the designer or builder to provide adequate fixing to carry all weight loads..

Door Frame & fittings

The Glide-Away Tilt Door frame is made from special high strength aluminium profile, and each frame designed to meet Australian Standards for Wind loads. The frame, running guides and fittings are made from the highest quality material. Most components and fittings are made from stainless steel and all aluminium surfaces are powder coated as standard.

Glass/Perspex

All glass that is supplied and fitted by Smartech is 6.38mm laminate safety glass as standard. Where toughened glass or Perspex is required please consult the manufacturer. If glass is not included or supplied by Smartech then it is the responsibility of the purchaser to follow procedures and to conform to AS1288 (Glazing Selection).

Note: The use of other glass or glazing material should be referred to the manufacturer due to additional weight that may or may not be required to keep the door balanced. Standard 6.38mm laminate safety glass applies for standard glass designs.

Weight Covers

Weight covers are designed to enclose weights out of harms way. Covers will wrap around, extending from the track or drive rack and returning to the wall.

Locking

The Glide-Away Tilt Door will not be fitted with locks when the customer selects the option for a motorised door. For the sale of a non-motorised door, patio type locks will be fitted on each side of the lower frame.

Note: Where doors are motorised we do not recommend the installation of any patio type locks as damage can occur when a motor is in operation.

Operation

The Glide-Away Tilt Door is balanced between the frame weight and the weights that are attached via two axle shafts over a pulley sheave. Door movement is guided by bearings attached to the door frame, operating in the specially extruded aluminium running guides. The axles are located half way down on the sides of the frame, allowing the door to pivot half in and half out of the building line.

Motorisation

Smartech has developed a motorisation system that is so compact and unique you won’t even notice where the motor is located. The drive spindle shaft is made from high grade stainless steel and is hidden to ensure smooth operation, offering years of travel life. A 24V DC motor turns the spindle shaft smoothly and effortlessly. Using the latest control systems, the controller knows the door position at every moment of travel. All motorised doors can be opened or closed from a touch of a button.
